    • All 9A students owe $3.00 for printing of grammar.  
    • Take 8 parts of Speech pretest.  
    • Hand out "The Lady, or the Tiger" story - start reading today when everybody is done with test.

    Wednesday, March 18

    • Learning Target:  Students will demonstrate understanding of complete sentences, correct capitalization, and punctuation in writing.
    • Finish reading Lady or Tiger
    • Complete the writing assignment for LAdy or Tiger (hand out) 

    Thursday, March 19

    • Learning Target:  Students will demonstrate understanding of classroom expectations using CHAMPS model.

            • Need stamp and envelope by tomorrow!

            Wednesday, May 7 (delayed start)

            • GOAL: Students will demonstrate understanding of commas through revisions of letters.
            • Finish revising letters and rewrite them.
            • Write addresses on envelopes and attach final letters and drafts to these with a paperclip.  I must read these to grade them before folding them and putting them in the envelopes (I will do that part:).
            • Explore Practice test for grammar/style

            Thursday, May 8

            • GOAL:  Students will understand "Quitters, Inc" through critical reading.
            • Listen to "Quitters, Inc" as a class.

            Friday, May 9

            • GOAL:  Students will demonstrate understanding of vocabulary and figurative language as it pertains to "Quitters, Inc."
            • Complete Formative Assessment on own
            • In groups--complete plot chart, vocabulary sentences, and figurative language.  
            • Test over a new story on MONDAY!
            • WEEK 8

              Monday, May 12

              • GOAL: Students will demonstrate collaboration by completing and understanding figurative language and vocabulary from "Quitters, Inc."
              • Finish Cartoons for "Quitters, Inc" (20 min)
              • Share cartoons
              • Complete figurative lang and vocab sentences in same groups - hand in one person's packet for a grade!  Make sure this is complete and that you are ALL happy with it!

              Tuesday, May 13

              • Pass out exam review and go over it with students
              • Hand out timed writing and have students complete and turn in.
              • These will be returned to you on Thursday for a group assignment.

              Wednesday, May 14 (sub day)

              • Test over a new story--same a previous tests, just without "Quitters, Inc."

              Thursday, May 15

              • Pass back essays that were written on Tuesday.
              • Group work for the essay (place into groups and go over expectations)
              • Must turn in today but will have some time on Monday as well.

              Friday, May 16

              • Read "The Scarlet Ibis" on own and work on plot chart.
              • Also pay close attention to figurative langauge from the story.
